6th Congressional District Candidate Forum, August 6th at UPS

The League of Women Voters of Tacoma-Pierce County along with several other local groups will host a forum with the candidates vying for the office of US Representative from the 6th Congressional District at the University of Puget Sound on Wednesday August 6th at 7:00 pm in the Trimble Forum.  The event will be moderated by Peter Callaghan of The News Tribune.

While three candidates are currently scheduled to attend, the incumbent, Rep. Norm Dicks (D), at this time has not confirmed.  Rep. Dicks is being challenged by Paul Richmond, a Democrat from Port Townsend, Doug Cloud a Republican from Tacoma, and Gary Murrell, a Green Party member from Hoquiam.  The top two finishers in the August 19th primary will face each other in the November general election.

The public is invited to attend and to ask questions of the candidates.
