Join the Backbone Campaign at Seattle's Martin Luther King, Jr., rally and march.

The theme of this year's event is, "Let Freedom Ring: End Racism, Poverty and War!"

We need about 10 people to help carry imagery in the march, including our inflatable Statue of Liberty and our giant globe, and we need drummers. If you are available to help out, send an email to amy@backbonecampaign.org for meeting time and location. The march starts at noon. For more information go to: www.mlkseattle.org

Chairperson Larry Gossett writes, "(This year) marks the 40th year anniversary of Dr. King's brutal assassination in 1968. Since Martin Luther King Jr. County is the only governmental jurisdiction in our nation named after Dr. King, we feel a special responsibility to not only celebrate his birthday, but to also reflect his goals of opportunity and equality for all."
