Amateur "citizen scientists" are needed to "NatureMap" common and not so common wildlife. NatureMappers are qualified to register with the University of Washington NatureMapping program, and to report the critters they see. All it takes is the willingness to spend one Friday evening and one Saturday, learning basic scientific reporting skills!
Moving from activities to field research, NatureMapping is a tool for students and citizens to use to help determine a healthy future for fish and wildlife through the use of sound scientific techniques. This hands-on, environmental-learning workshop includes: classroom and field work in use of maps, wildlife identification tips, habitat coding, building a search image, tracking and data collection procedures.
