Book Discussion Group
United for Peace of Pierce County's (UFPPC's) book discussion group “Digging Deeper” meets every Monday at the Mandolin Café, 3923 S. 12th St., Tacoma, WA 98405
Study Circle on Corporatocracy On May 28 and June 4, 11, & 18, Digging
Deeper, the UFPPC book discussion group will examine four books related to corporations and the effect
of their influence in U.S. and global society. Four books will be
under consideration: Thom Hartman, Screwed: The Undeclared War
against the Middle Class—and What We Can Do about It (Berret-Koehler,
2007); Joseph E. Stiglitz, Globalization and Its Discontents (W.W.
Norton, 2003); Ha-Joon Chang, Kicking Away the Ladder: Development
Strategy in Historical Perspective (Anthem Press, 2003); and Richard
Rorty, Derek Nystrom, and Kent Puckett, Against Bosses, Against
Oligarchies (Prickly Paradigm Press, 2002).
