Proposed revisions to Tacoma's Comprehensive Plan and development regulations, including area-wide zoning changes.
On September 5th, all interested persons will have an opportunity ot comment on proposed revisions to the City of Tacoma's Comprehensive Plan and development regulations including area-wide zoning changes. The Land Use Regulatory Code, Title 13 of the Tacoma Municipal Code (TMC), contains the development regulations and zoning classifications to implement the Comprehensive Plan. The Growth Management Act requires development regulations to be consistent with and implement the Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan and development regulations are amended annually.
This year, nine elements of the Comprehensive Plan are proposed for revision. Most are the result of the 2007 Mixed-use Center Review project. In addition, there are amendments to the Neighborhood Element and the Transportation Element, changes to intensity designations, and zoning changes. In addition, an Open Space Current Use Assessment application is being reviewed.
